How much will students pay?

According to figures reported when the date was first announced, the e-bike has a listed price of Rs. 199,000, of which students pay Rs. 109,000 in instalments of Rs. 3,028 a month over 36 months. The Punjab government covers the rest through a subsidy and also pays the markup, insurance and registration. The official portal is bikes.punjab.gov.pk.

What happens next

  • Verification and balloting: officials said verification and selection would be completed in October.
  • Training: students who cannot ride will get two days of free training; the Chief Minister directed that successful female applicants receive free driving training.
  • Distribution: from 5 November 2026.

Applications closed on 4 October 2026, so new students cannot apply in this phase. Selected students should watch for official SMS and portal updates and avoid anyone asking for money to ‘guarantee’ selection.

Why it matters

With fuel prices high, a monthly instalment close to Rs. 3,000 makes an e-bike cheaper to run than many daily transport options for students. See our petrol price in Pakistan today report and other auto news.
