Why it matters for dairy and livestock farmers

Feed is the biggest running cost of keeping animals, and small farmers often borrow from middlemen at high cost or sell animals early. An interest-free feed loan lets farmers fatten animals and keep milking animals healthy until sale, which can raise income. The loan is for feed only, so it does not finance buying new animals.

Frequently asked questions

Can goat and sheep farmers apply?

Yes. In Phase 3, goats and lambs are included, for farmers with 5 to 20 animals.

Can I take cash from the Livestock Card?

Up to 25% of the limit can be withdrawn as cash; the rest is used at registered feed dealers.

Is registration open now?

No. As of 26 October 2026, the portal says the current season is closed. We will update this page when the next round opens.
