Applicants for an Islamabad driving license can now receive it at home. Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a home delivery service, under which completed licenses are dispatched to the address given by the applicant instead of being collected from a traffic office. ITP has said the service saves time and offers safe, quick, doorstep delivery.
How it works
- Visit an ITP office or facilitation centre and complete the medical and driving tests and photograph.
- Provide your delivery address at the time of application.
- Your completed license is delivered to that address by courier.

Faster processing and no urgent fee
ITP has also reported that, on the directions of the Islamabad Inspector General of Police, it has removed the separate urgent fee and cut processing for regular licenses from about two weeks to two to three days, with delivery to the applicant’s doorstep. Duplicate and renewed licenses can be issued within an hour at ITP offices on payment of the regular fee.
What is still unclear
- Delivery charges have not been announced.
- It is not yet clear whether every category of license is covered.
Check with ITP (helpline 1915) or at the office before applying. ITP’s facilitation vans also continue to offer learner permits, renewals and duplicate licenses across Islamabad.
