What services Asaan Khidmat Centres offer
A Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Centre offers more than 60 services in one place, including passports, NADRA identity services, domicile, and birth and death certificates (ProPakistani). The aim is to stop citizens having to visit several offices for related paperwork.
How the Islamabad centre is performing
The Islamabad centre processed more than 171,000 applications between January and September 2026, the prime minister was told. He asked for service times to be cut further, more staff at busy counters and a third-party audit of the centre’s performance.
What else is being considered
- Using centrally located post offices and other government buildings to offer Asaan Khidmat services in more cities.
- A revenue-sharing arrangement with departments such as NADRA and the Immigration and Passports Department.
- Working with the private sector to set up centres in other parts of the country.
APP noted that no final decision had yet been taken on implementing these wider options.
What it means for citizens
If the plans go ahead, residents of AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could get passport, identity and civil registration services at one counter instead of travelling between offices. Until then, many services are available online; see our guides to NADRA CNIC renewal and getting a birth certificate in Punjab.
