Zong Z HomeFi is a new 5G home broadband service that Zong launched on 8 October 2026, calling it Pakistan’s first 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) service. It offers 12 prepaid monthly bundles with speeds from 10 Mbps to 50 Mbps and 100GB to 500GB of data, starting at Rs. 4,500. You also need a 5G indoor router (CPE) that costs Rs. 22,000, and the service is sold only at Zong Customer Service Centres in 10 major cities.

Zong Z HomeFi plans and price

Zong’s announcement (APP) gave the range but not the full list of bundles. These three plans were reported by TechJuice:

Speed Data (30 days) Monthly price Cost per GB
10 Mbps 100GB Rs. 4,500 Rs. 45
50 Mbps 100GB Rs. 7,500 Rs. 75
50 Mbps 500GB Rs. 11,000 Rs. 22

The 5G router (CPE) costs Rs. 22,000 once, so the first month on the entry plan comes to Rs. 26,500. Zong has not said publicly which 10 cities are covered, so ask your nearest Customer Service Centre before buying the router.

How Zong Z HomeFi works

Instead of a fibre or copper line, the indoor router picks up Zong’s 5G mobile signal and shares it over Wi-Fi in your home. Zong says setup is plug-and-connect, with no fibre installation. That makes it useful where fibre has not reached, or for renters who cannot drill or lay cables.

All bundles are prepaid and data-capped; none is unlimited. According to TechJuice, Zong sends alerts at 50%, 80% and 100% of usage, and the connection stops once the quota runs out until you buy more.

Z HomeFi vs fibre: is it good value?

Compared with fibre, Z HomeFi is expensive per GB. For example, PTCL’s 40 Mbps Flash Fiber plan costs Rs. 4,999 a month including tax and is listed as unlimited under a fair-use policy, as we reported in our PTCL Flash Fiber vs StormFiber comparison. For a similar monthly amount, Z HomeFi’s entry plan gives 10 Mbps and 100GB.

Where Z HomeFi makes sense:

  • Your street has no fibre, but strong Zong 5G coverage.
  • You use moderate data, such as browsing, video calls and some streaming, and stay within the cap.
  • You need a connection quickly without waiting for a fibre installation.

Where fibre is better:

  • Heavy users who stream in HD or 4K, game or download large files every day.
  • Homes with many users, where 100GB can be used up in days.

Before you buy

  • Check that your exact address has good Zong 5G signal. See where 5G is available in Pakistan and Zong’s own coverage map.
  • Ask whether the bundle prices include tax and what happens to unused data.
  • Remember the Rs. 22,000 router is an upfront cost even if you later cancel.
