What the numbers mean

Every month of the quarter brought in more than $3.5 billion, which is now normal rather than a peak; the record remains $4.25 billion in May. At this pace, analysts at Topline Securities expect remittances of about $44.7 billion in FY27, compared with a record $41.6 billion in FY26. These inflows help the current account and support the State Bank’s foreign exchange reserves.

For families, steady remittances mean more spending power, though high inflation in Pakistan eats into it. Recipients increasingly receive money through bank accounts and digital wallets; see our guide to digital banks in Pakistan.
