  2. Open a regular or Sahulat account using the Shariah-compliant customer relationship and risk disclosure documents.
  3. Check which shares and Sukuk are eligible on the Shariah portal of the PSX Data Portal.
  4. Place orders on the Shariah counter; if you need financing, use Murabaha Share Financing instead of conventional margin financing.

Can I convert my existing portfolio?

Yes. Investors can sell non-compliant holdings to bring their portfolio in line with Islamic principles before trading on the Shariah counter.

Why it matters

Many Pakistani savers avoid the stock market because of concerns about interest and speculation. A separate counter with only Shariah-compliant products, plus Murabaha financing, gives them a clear option. PSX CEO Farrukh H. Sabzwari said investor accounts have crossed 650,000, with Millennials and Gen Z driving new participation. SECP also plans to expand digital retail Sukuk.
